Color Television

The Star labelling for TV covers televisions with diagonal screen upto 215 centimetre and native vertical resolution upto 1920 X 1080 pixels, of CRT, LCD (with CCFL Backlighting), LCD (with LED Backlighting), Plasma technologies including TV combination units. To qualify for the star rating, the television should comply with the standby power consumption requirement of TVs as below:

CRT TVs <= 1.0W
LCD (with CCFL backlight)/ Plasma TVs <= 0.8W
LCD (with LED backlight) TVs <= 0.6W

 

The television’s measured peak luminance in the default, as-shipped picture mode (home mode) should be greater than or equal to 65% of the measured peak luminance in the brightest selectable pre-set picture mode (factory or retail picture mode) to obtain the star rating.
